Trakai district municipality is one of the most picturesque municipalities of Lithuania. A larger part of the municipality is situated on the Dzūkai Upland (the highest point – 257.4 m – Gedanonys Hill), the northern part – on the plateau of the lower reaches of Neris, the eastern – on the Dainava Lowland.
The Parish Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary rising from Trakai peninsula heights seems to be built a little further away from the main areas of the town
