Molėtai district municipality is located in the southern part of Utena county, in the Molėtai and Bijutiškis moraine massifs of the Aukštaičiai Upland.
The former 16th - 17th c. remains of Radvila Church can be spotted in Dubingiai castle site. For the first time, short-term archaeological research here took place in the church area round 1939.
On the shore of the longest and one of the most beautiful lakes in Lithuania - Lake Asveja in Dubingiai town, there is a huge hill - Dubingiai mound.
